Origins 2026 ~ Cosplay

For some reason the overall count of costumes didn’t see as high this year as previous years.

That didn’t stop our costume-hunting shutterbug from hunting all she could, including a brief stop at the costume contest, too. And yes, we know that cosplay isn’t an integral part of the wargaming world¹ but it’s still a fun part of the convention. Oh, and no drag queens that we saw in the con, anywhere 🤷

Gee, I thought you were going to post about “those” people. Though they seem to be much more discreet now.

My friend Rob runs BottosCon in or near Vancouver every year, always at a hotel but the hotel has changed often.
At an early one which I didn’t personally attend, his wargame con was booked in the hotel at the same time as a convention of furries!
He told me about how these people dressed in fox or lion costumes would poke their heads around the corner, see the pairs of silent stout guys sitting and staring intently without moving at a small board with an ASL scenario on it, shake their heads and go back to their group skritches or whatever….
