GAMA’s put together a 10-year plan that was unveiled to membership last week, that includes moving the Expo to Baltimore for 6 years starting in 2027, new educational programs for GAMA members, and events, especially their new Game Store Day, modeled after Comic Store Day, among others
Why Game Store Day?
Inspired by events like Independent Bookstore Day, Record Store Day, and International Tabletop Day — and timed to coincide with the start of the American Library Association’s International Games Month — Game Store Day is a GAMA initiative designed to boost the visibility of our retail members. The event will drive foot traffic to their brick-and-mortar locations, build community, and create opportunities for collaboration with game publishers, industry and local media, and local game groups.

Viltė Radzytė is a student who has designed an educational game about conflicts between the US and Iran.
I’ve designed a two-player board game called The Shadow Lines for my Bachelor’s thesis.
It’s about the tense relationship between the U.S. and Iran, and how Iran adapts to U.S. sanctions.I’d love your help playtesting it! A game session takes around 45–60 minutes. Each player can try up to four scenarios since there are two roles and two ways to play (sequential and simultaneous).

Last week we relayed to you about the medical issues with Grant Wylie’s wife Kristine. The latest Worthington newsletter update that came in this morning included this bit of fantastic news
As many of you know, my wife Kristine was in, but is now out of the hospital. She had a very large (8cm size of grapefruit) meningioma tumor removed from her frontal lobe of the brain on Thursday September 18. It was very successful and the doctor believes he got all of it and initial pathology is that it is benign. It is an absolute miracle as it was pressing on the speech, understanding, and emotional section of the brain. We were not sure at the time if she would be talking or understanding speech when she came out, but she is absolutely normal.
We were dishcarged on Sunday the 21st and she is currently sitting beside me drinking tea and watching tv as I write this. There appears to be no damage or long lasting symptoms that we can tell of at this time (other than my nerves).

A LinkedIn post about teaching wargaming to senior military leaders
The biggest lesson for me was cultural. Many professionals don’t reject wargaming because they dislike it, they hesitate because they’ve never had its value explained, or they think “if it mattered, I’d already have been taught it.” Others fear looking incompetent in a new domain. Addressing those insecurities openly is as important as teaching the rules.
