Patreon Supporters!
This is the last call for badges for our Patreon Supporters at the Regimental Captain level. If you’ve not yet requested your badge for the convention, go to the Patreon site and follow the link to the form. We’re going to close that form on 7 October so we can get the badges printed.
Know Before You Go
- We do not have a hotel attached to the VFW but you can find local hotels here. The Hampton Inn at the interchange between I-40 and NC54/Chapel Hill Road is a popular option, and very convenient to our building.
- There are a variety of restaurants in walking distance, and a LOT of them just a short drive away. There’s also a bar & grill in the main building, with a variety of pub food and reasonably-priced libations.
- The Gamer’s Armory is about 1 mile from our location, so you’ll be able to stock up on games while you’re at the convention.
- On Thursday night, we’re planning our usual social gathering at Craft Public House about 2-1/2 miles from the VFW, set for 7pm. This is an optional, no-cost/no-sign-up drop-in event to just hang out and socialize a bit. Grab some dinner, or just some dessert, and hang out with your fellow conventioneers.
- You can bring your own food & drink to the convention with you, but no outside alcohol please. There’s a covered patio out back where you can chow down. Please make sure all drinks on tabletops have secure lids on them2. NO CHEETOS.
- The “take one / leave one” swap table is back again, for you to exchange games & accessories you’d like to pass on from your library. You don’t have to leave one to take one (and vice versa), but don’t accidentally set anything on this table that you intend to keep!
- For the first time this year, we’ve got a door prize raffle with some pretty snazzy stuff in it! These are unpunched games from publishers (almost all still in shrink) that we’re raffling off. We’ll pull the tickets on Saturday evening right around dinnertime.

We are once again hosted by the Cary VFW, which is well within between-game-resupply distance of The Gamer’s Armory for you to stock up on new games.
You can also use this map as the starting point to search for your hotel; there are a variety along I-40 as well in the Crossroads area just north of here.
Our plan is the usual light munchies, plus some Dragoons swag, and this year we’re adding a dedicated door prize table in addition to the always-popular swap table!
