Registration for the January 2026 ACDC is now open

The 2026 ACDC is less than a month away!

We still have a few seminar descriptions trickling in, and we have a couple of game sessions that still need to be confirmed, too.

On the seminar front, we have a couple of highlights this year:

• It’s an even-numbered year, so Brant will present a Keynote talk on Saturday night
• We’ve got 3 award-winning historians joining us to present some of their recent books, and field questions from our audience
  • Dr Craig Luther talking about armored warfare on the Eastern Front in WW2
  • Peter Cozzens discussing his research on the Plains Indian Wars of the American frontier
  • Mark Stille talking about the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the Pacific Theater in WW2
• Student presentations from wargame design classes at Georgetown University
• A special announcement during the opening happy hour on Friday night

On the gaming side of this year’s convention, you can check out any of these games that are either or pre-order, or waiting their turn in the queue

• Rebels Against Rebellion – David Thompson’s new Civil War game
• True Command – It’s not just fighting the battle, but also maximizing your commanders
• Hammer Bastion – Keith Tracton’s next game with his Shock & Awe system
• Queen of Spies – Liz Davidson teaches her co-design with David Thompson, where you’re running a spy ring WW1
• Littoral Commander: Space Force – the LC system goes sci-fi with orbital insertions, over-the-horizon firepower, and more
• A Forlorn Hope – Hermann Luttmann’s upcoming WW1 trench-warfare game from Wharf Rat Games
• Catch-18 – The Battle of the Brenner – coming soon from SNAFU

We’re also got a variety of learn-to-play sessions for games on the shelves at your FLGS

• NATO: The Cold War Goes Hot – Bruce is back to teach his fan favorite
• Raider Drop Zone – The first game in the Shock & Awe system
• Squadron Strike: Newton’s Cradle and Romance of the Seven Realms – dogfights in space with Ad Astra Games
• China’s War – Andrew Buchholz teaches the latest COIN game (and listen to Brian talk about it here)
• Washington’s War – refight the American Revolution
• Learn to play Great Campaigns of the American Civil War
• 12 Hours at Maleme – SNAFU Games joins the ACDC for the first time with one of the unknown stories from WW2

note that there are multiple sessions of some of these games
so check the overall schedule if one of them is full

There’s a couple of great off-the-wall sessions, too!

• Kriegsspiel: The Original wargame – go double-blind and referee-mediated with maximum fog of war and uncertainty everywhere as you manage your battle
• Battle Of Zorndorf (1758) – Frederick the Great meets the Russians in a team Kriegsspiel-style game with Wargame Design Studio’s Seven Years’ War engine driving the action
• Afghanistan: Decades of Strife – prototype of a game on events of the very recent past

So there’s plenty of great games & seminars to keep you busy, along with the usual socializing throughout our dedicated Discord home base for the ACDC.
