2025 Mentioned In Dispatches Year In Review

For the past few years we’ve published our year in review for the site overall, but this year we wanted to highlight the podcast, too.

The problem with pulling podcast stats is that they’re kind of fragmented by platform, unless you pay for them, which we might have to do in 2026.  That said, here’s a couple of things we found this year

iTunes

Our ranking with y’all is still holding strong, but we could use some more ratings / reviews.  Apparently we need around 50 total rankings and over 20 reviews for us to start climbing the charts in the recommendation engines.

Spotify

Spotify isn’t our primary platform where folks listen to us (PocketCasts, Overcast, iTunes, and “Other”) but they do put together a pretty cool end-of-year “Spotify Wrapped for Creators” that has some snazzy visuals.

All of these numbers were up nicely from 2024

Only 10 of you have us as your favorite podcast, but over 100 people on Spotify has us in their top 10, so that’s pretty good.

So it’s been a pretty interesting year for the podcast.  Look, we mostly do this because it’s fun, and we’re going to keep doing it because we enjoy these conversations.  But sharing the love with the rest of the wargaming community out there?  That’s where y’all come in.  We can record things all day long without you, but you are the key engine in helping the audience grow, and we love you for that¹.
