The French Revolutionary armies brought Liberte, Egalite, and Fratetnite.
Every town liberated in Germany had a Liberty Tree emplaced on the town square. 
And a guillotine.
The Liberty Trees were made of cheap pot metal and quickly began rusting away.  The guillotine were kept well maintained and saw regular use.
