Rather interesting article about the exercises the military calls wargames.  Most of the naval wargames I participated in were highly scripted maneuvers.  The author has some very valid points.

And I have to wonder if he may be the son of science fiction writer Jerry Pournelle (More in God's Eye, Lucifers Hammer)?
