Advanced Tactics: Gold -- How do we not already have a thread for this one??

I know at least a few of my fellow Dragoons have put some time in ATG over the years, and I'm curious as to your guys' take on it.  As someone who is (admittedly) only moderately into wargames, but heavily into 4x games, I've eyed this one for a long time now, but have never quite pulled the trigger. 




(A new update just dropped, incidentally, which is what brought the game back to the front of my mind.)

Buy it! It's a really well done wargame sandbox. You could do nothing but play the random 4x style game and have fun for a very long time.

But it's also a very powerful construction kit for building just about any type of wargame. Back when it first came out I and a few others really went to town with it. We build various battle specific scenarios including a War in Europe and an entire World WWII scenarios. I even managed to build a space combat scenario with the engine.

The Matrix forums should be full of all kinds of scenarios and mods for the game. And lots of help for those that want to build stuff.

At 10 bucks it's a steal! Buy it!

And yes, it is a really fun game. Once you understand how the "supply flow" works the game really clicks and the fun starts.
