A new addition to the CC system from Hexasim

https://www.hexasim.com/en/2700-Great-War-Commander-British-Expeditionary-Force.html

Quite tempting, although you do need the base game. Unfortunately, its not really suitable for solo play.

It does look interesting. And just about any game can be made suitable for solo play.  8)

If your personality is dissociative

I think most of us have that part covered.

I can't comment on that one right now. My other personalities are still arguing the point.  :silly:

Hexasim do make very good games, and the quality of the components is excellent. Again, I'm not a fan of the CC game itself, but I do like this iteration of the system.

Most WWI tanks cannot run off and leave the infantry, so they may play ok in the Combat Commander system.

Anyone playing this? I've been tempted on a few occasions, especially since there is the additional British stuff. I seem to recall the JD has the base game?

I got the base game and also the BEF expansion. I actually played it with someone (daughter's boyfriend).

It's really thematic and looks great.

I seem to recall we had an issue with movement. It seemed very, very difficult to get any traction. I can't remember specifically - whether it was combat or movement. It could've been just a rule thing perhaps, or how we were trying to play as opposed to how the game wants you to play.

Sorry I can't be any more help...it's been about 6 months since we played.

Thanks, JD.

....if you ever decide to sell, I may be interested.

I've been reading the rules for this and it does seem like a very interesting system. One of my buddies is very much into the CC games, and I have played that a bit, but I find that this WW1 variant is much more appealing to me than the 'parent' games.

For WW2 tac games, I'll stick firmly with LHY.
