I know. And not a bad mantra to live by.

But if I lived by it religiously, I wouldn't have THE best solitaire game ever made still in my collection

I think that the Homer Simpson rule of gaming applies;

'if its too hard to learn, it aint worth learning'  ;D

So I'm making my way through the rules.

They're not a bad as I first thought. They are difficult. The lack of graphics, early mentions of things with no explanation and new terms have made reading and absorbing...difficult. But not as bad as I thought.

I sat outside yesterday with all the charts, cards and player aids so that I could visualise what the manual was talking about by looking at the components...that helped a lot.

I love the concept, the design and the ideas I’m just not sure I like how it’s all represented - I’ll keep watching

No, I still haven't picked it up yet.  Between funds remaining tight at the moment, and my current backlog of games being ridiculous as it is anyway, I'm forcing myself to hold off for the time being.

Brad was especially chatty in the GalCiv discord this evening.  In addition to casually mentioning that he'd already begun designing Galactic Civilizations V (but emphasized it wasn't in actual development yet, and still years away from release), he also dropped this nugget:

Quote

1.   Remaster of Elemental coming this Fall.
2.   Elemental Remaster = War of Magic + FE + LH put together.

I'm bearing in mind that a lot can still happen between now & then, and that release dates get pushed back all the time.  That being said, I suddenly can't wait for autumn to get here.  :D
