The Giant Civ 6 AAR: Nubia, Part Four

We were getting all barbarianated last time

Find the Bastard(s) and Pile On.

First shot is the slinger, to put a hit on that barbarian spearman.

civ6-Nubia
Later turn, another hit.

Is our warrior, from the other direction.

civ6-Nubia
Same Later Turn, Still Slinging.

And we kill the barbarian….

civ6-Nubia
…For a double-bonus.

First, our slinger is now promotable, and second, killing more barbarians gets us a knowledge boost.

civ6-Nubia
Meanwhile, back on the ranch.

We’ve got a fully-healed warrior looking for something to hit

civ6-Nubia
And a Scout.

That’s done hitting things for the moment.

civ6-Nubia
If You Build It, and “It” is a Builder…

Will “he” still come if all you built was a builder?  Never mind.  We’re queueing up a settler and then another scout.

civ6-Nubia
More build Queue.

And let’s add a monument to the queue to start developing a little culture.  C’mon guys, stop laughing.  I said “a little”….

civ6-Nubia
Get to Building!

Going to start with the maize, which has the advantage of extra food, plus extra gold when farmed.

civ6-Nubia
Promotable Scout.

See in the bottom right corner where the “medal” is?  Tells me I can promote him.

civ6-Nubia
Given the local terrain.

We’re going with the Ranger promotion to scoot through trees faster.

civ6-Nubia
Warrior-Scout.

Recon is a mission, not a unit.  Sending this warrior off to open up the map toward Singapore some.

civ6-Nubia
And…

We immediately find an enemy scout.  &@%#$@…

civ6-Nubia
Ruh-Roh.

The real problem is that he’s in easy range of my builder, and no nearby units for protection.

civ6-Nubia
FRAGO!

So we’re going to change plans for that builder and have him work on a resource a little further away, and with more rivers between us and the enemy scout.

civ6-Nubia
Not Helpful.

Moving the slinger into those hills gets us adjacent to the scout, but without enough movement points to attack him.

civ6-Nubia
Trying to Surround Him.

We flank the slinger more to the north.  We redirect our warrior scout from the south, and we bring the other scout back to the capital, which we were going to do for healing anyway.

civ6-Nubia
Slinger Getting Frisky.

We can throw stones across the river, so let’s close through the open terrain and attack.

civ6-Nubia
And He’s Dead.

Got the kill, the eureka, and minimized the threat.  All in all, a good day.

Huh, I wonder what’s about to go wrong next?
